Did You Know? CloudSync vs. iCloud

We try to ask every Mac customer we come in contact with about having a backup of their computer. An answer we hear a lot is that iCloud is backing up all the content on their computer. There is this misconception among some Apple users that believe iCloud backs up their computer. This is untrue. iCloud does not back up your computer. iCloud is a great tool that does indeed backup your mobile devices (iPhone, iPad). It is also very useful in syncing certain things (contacts, calendars, photos, etc.) over to your computer. It is not a true backup of your computer though. We, at Triad Mac, do offer a… Read moreDid You Know? CloudSync vs. iCloud

Many small and medium sized business owners don’t realize how much seemingly small I.T. issues are costing them. Gartner, Technology research company, has calculated that I.T. issues account for 87 hours a year of lost billable time. These issues range from email glitches to full server interruptions, and for any organization this figure of lost billable time becomes staggering. When an I.T. issue occurs, it is a race against time to handle it before it spirals out of control. According to the IT Process Institute, the resolution time per outage is an average of 200 minutes. On average small and medium sized businesses… Read moreWhat does downtime really cost your business?

In 2014 Apple and IBM began a partnership to create iOS apps and deploy iPhones and iPads into the enterprise market. As part of the deal they would also deploy Macs to the IBM employees. The partnership looks to be off to a great start. IBM’s VP of Workplace-as-a-Service, Fletcher Previn said that far fewer Mac users require help with their machines than IBM’s PC users. Just five percent of employees using Macs call IBM’s internal help desk for troubleshooting, while over 40 percent of the company’s PC users make calls to the help desk. We often encounter situations where companies take on the task of figuring out the solution to their IT issues. We have found that a majority of the time we are called in after customers get stumped. They have spent hours trying to fix an issue wasting both productivity and company resources. We’ve heard a lot of our customers say something similar to this “I use this computer all of the time, I know how it works”. Our response, or analogy, to this concern may seem simple but here it is: Think of your computer like your car. You drive your… Read moreWhen things aren’t running smoothly…
